Story
Yeosu is famous for its beautiful sea, delicious seafood, gat kimchi, strawberry mochi, and more. Located in South Jeolla Province, it takes about four and a half hours by car from Seoul. With my parents and son, I departed from Yangsan, passed the Namhae Expressway, passed the beautiful Lee Sun-shin Bridge, and arrived at the hotel first.
Ocean Hill Hotel is a hotel with excellent breakfast and good cost-effectiveness. I think it was about 150,000 won per night (for 4 people). Of course, breakfast is included. However, the staff in the hotel lobby is unfriendly. Everything is booked online and you can relax in a room with a view of the sea.
It is very hot and humid in Korea in the summer. There is also a typhoon once in a while, so you have to check the weather well. August is not good for traveling with your elderly parents. So we traveled slowly. When we go to Yeosu, we must take the Odongdo cable car.
There are two places to ride the cable car, and we chose the one from Odongdo. The price of a cable car is 15,000 won for a round trip and 11,000 won for senior citizens. There was a young couple from Germany who brought their parents and wanted to get a discount, but they left their passports in the car. Yes, the parking lot is free. The cable car rides for 25 minutes round trip. We took a break at the cable car station and enjoyed the scenery.
It’s now over 34 degrees Celsius. After a short break at a hotel, we are hungry and talk about many things over a simple cake and drink at Starbucks on the scenic shoreline.
Finally, the night of Yeosu has come. Tomorrow, I have to go back to Yangsan. I plan to eat Yeosu’s seafood and drink soju tonight. And there will be a typhoon tomorrow.
Yeosu night sea. There’s a beautiful story in this light
버스커 버스커(Busker Busker)
I want to play it for you. What are you doing
I’m at Yeosu Night Sea, Yeosu Night Sea………….
“Soju and seafood dishes introducing Yeosu, beautiful Yeosu night sea songs, and a smiling mom.” Make sure to listen to Yeosu night sea before coming to Yeosu. The lyrics are in Korean, but I think you can feel Yeosu’s emotions.
In fact, we have visited Yeosu’s fish market, the famous iced noodle restaurant, and Lee Sun-shin Square. If you come from Korea, make sure to stop by Yeosu, a beautiful city on the southern coast.
